Do you think ducati will ever make a 1200 hyper?... loving the 821 but they have a 1200 and 821 monster. Suppose if they did the SP version would be just be insane... would a 1200 monster engine fit in the 821 frame?
I'm not sure I can see it tbh, it's treading into Multi territory. But I have been thinking, if the frame of the Monster 821 is the same, why shouldn't it fit? Question is who will be nutty enough to do it
I think having big heavy motorway munching engines in Hypers misses the point of a Motard. They are supposed to be super light hooligan bikes.
Spot on, the whole idea of the hyper is to be quick and nimble through the twisty stuff which it does very well yet can still rattle along an A road if you can stand the battering from the wind!
There is a member of the Swedish Ducati Club called Daniel Hagglund who has fitted an 1198 motor into an '07 Hypermotard. It was featured in Bike January 2014. It required a new airbox, makes 169 bhp and is very loud. Proper hooligan bike.
Haha f*cking hell! My earlier point still stands that it's way to big an engine for the type of bike, but I bet it's proper funny to ride so hats off to him for doing it.
Had my 796HM ECU flashed when I had my Termis and de-cat pipe now it's putting out the same BHP as the 1100HM. Does 136 with ease, and it still feels like sitting on a 125 trailie
If i was going to get another hyper it would be another 1100....the 1100 is only slightly bigger that the 821 and getting another 100cc into an 1100 style frame/sized bike....i like to think that id be first in line but, the prices for premium bikes is going north at a rate of knots.....plan is to finish my ktm 525 sm project and then make a decision then, if i do choose to sell it, ill be going for another 1100 but an s model...its as good as done but waiting on the wiring for a mate who seems to be working away forever! Itching to build something else....got the bug now...!
