Metallic engine knocking / grinding at 11,000 miles, word from the Duc specialist is that my big ends have gone. So a complete bottom end overhaul required and a new run in. Great. £1309. Anyone heard of this happening on the Hypermotards? Mines a 57 plate 1100s
My 2008 1100S has turned 31,000 miles without problems. I have done all the servicing myself from day 1. A friend phoned me last night as his (07 1100S) is making a noise in top gear and says the gears feel stiff to engage/disengage. I'm thinking gear selector (a common problem) but would be interested to know (as per the other thread) what kind of noise you're getting, all gears, under load, etc?
