Right....here we go.... I think the state of tail tidies (if thats the word) arent very good for the hypermotard. At best theyre not very well thought out and at worst bloody expensive. It would seem that the republique one is the best of the bunch and thats not brilliant. I got one to get me by for the moment as the stock one is quite frankly embarassing to be on there. Ive taken it upon my self to design something different. Ive havent said anything really up to now as i havent had any hard evidence/nothing to show but ive designed a tail tidy that is tucked up further to the pipes and as a result the number plate light will sit up between the two pipes (the republiqe one sits about an 1 1/2 or so below. Itll be made out of alloy alternatively to stainless and the main reason was that it would seem that different pipes have different mount points so if its in alloy then you can drill/position your own and alloy is a lot easier to drill than stainless. Ive dropped the fabricator off my stock pipes and the mock up - he reckons he can improve on what ive done (which im interested to see) - to make it viable i may have to have an initial run done so, once i get it back ill take a shot of it attached to the stock pipe and post it. If anyone is interested PM me and ill see what happens. Ive havent had any costs back yet but im guessing its going to be half the price of the republique one. If anyone has any ideas or opinions then im all ears.

Well - see how it goes....dude at the fabricators said once a design is finalized he just loads it up hits go and it rolls off more....ive never seen a single side termi in the flesh so i dont know if a regular one would fit although i suspect it wouldnt - or would it....? having said that answering my own question id say not - dont they supply a new mount point as the stock pipes are the mounting point.
Side view - not great. I think the gap where the twin pipes were would be too big with a side fitted. If you see what I mean...
Ah - so you can fit the stock unit still....if thats the case then it may fit - as i said what ill be getting will have no holes in it so you can drill your own...
Going to pick up a couple this week - ill post the pics when i get them. If anyone wants one theyll be 40 quid a pop and that includes the carriage....ill take a shot and post it when i get it - the shot will be with it attached to my existing stock pipes.
Ok - this is about it. The holes are going to be widened slightly to allow for "Ducati's engineering excellence" as it were but that's it Ill be getting the first ones next week - by which time my republique one will be for sale... This is not set in stone - fabricator tells me if I want adjustments he can do that on the next ones produced. Comments please....

Pm me your address details and ill get on in the post on the 2nd (theyre at work) - ill send it first class recorded so you'll get it the next day (Friday) Cheers PS - this is a slightly older thread - the finished unit is a lot better looking, also comes in 2 parts - so you can run it without indicators. and the mounting points including the LED light are on a slotted connection so you can adjust the angle. The reason for this is that (at least for me) it would seem the the holes are/were never exactly right so the old Republique tail tidy would never sit straight and wasn't even mountable until I drilled it. Mine is totally adjustable so you can get it level.
