Hypermotard Vs Fireblade

Discussion in 'Hypermotard' started by Ryan, Feb 13, 2016.

  1. A video of me racing my mate on my hypermotard 796 he has a fireblade.
Racing at the Isle of Man TT 2015!
Doesn't look as fast as it felt!
The vide shows that maybe a steering damper would help a few wobbles lol

  2. Enjoyed that, cheers for posting.
Lots of stunned slugs out there too.

  3. Haha yes there was I seem to remember passing a lad on a brand new CBR 600 with orange repsol stickers and he was completely shocked!
    Great buzz!
Hopefully be a bit quicker this year.
Good insight as to how these bikes can hold there own with sportsbikes!

  4. Played so much Real Racing 3, I found myself tipping the iPad into the bends, fair play to you. Your mate is a bit static on that Blade of his, could do to move his arse a bit and lower his shoulder into the bend. Andy

  5. Yeah I know Iv watched it a few times myself like that haha.
Yeah I noticed that too he was surprised because he said he thought he was lower needs to put more trust in his tyres lol.
But personally that's where the Hypers come in and wipe the floor from some of these boys because they are so agile and forgiven!

  6. What's going off with your up shifts o_O sounds like you're mistiming throttle/clutch change "lurching" or is it some weird quick shifter :Sorry:

  7. Assume it was one way day?

  8. Whenever I go over the mountain I instinctively shut the throttle as soon as I seen the police parked up, I quickly remember there's no speed limit up there and have a little laugh to myself as I crack it back open.

  10. Cool vid. We went in 2014 and I got my ass handed to me by a guy on a Honda TransAlp .... With his Missus on the back and a large toolbox behind her!! They'd been coming for 25yrs :)
I can't wait to go back. We went shooting over there a couple of months back and my mate let me borrow his Nissan 350Z for a few hours for a blast but it wasn't as fun as the Panigale!

  11. Yes I know feels really weird haha but there really only there to clean up the mess after someone makes a balls up

  12. There's always one expert
First time in the Isle of Man first time over the mountain course and first time opening my bike up properly like that so I guess I have still a lot to learn.
Thanks for pointing that out tho

  13. Yeah the veterans really know it well and are a lot quicker.
We went over again the next day and some guy on a white Ducati Panigale I suspect flew by us like we were standing still! Dropped a knee and sparks coming from his knee sliders balls of steel!
I can't imagine it would be as fun as a Panigale but still fun all the same the 350Z are cool cars :)
