It was first to be short contract in September (extra cash) but that was cancelled as no longer go ahead. Ok cool forgot about it and today I was told my cv was sent for a full time position yesterday (knew nothing). Job seems what I like with a twist. Salary not certain yet as not disclosed. However few things managed to sniff out and wanted opinion. Job is a IT emergency support thing so on a motorbike in London. New to that company as they only use vans so far so would be first. I know it will be bit more dangerous commute so money has to reflect that, we will see. However I was told there will be 300GBP motorbike pay a month on top of salary. No idea if that would be for running the bike ie petrol, service or just buying one. A question assuming it is one pay a month would I be able to claim miles from government on my own? I am thinking if it includes petrol it is nothing as cheaper bike like fazer would set me off minimum 75 a week on petrol.
Lucaz, I kind of get what you're saying. BTW, Henry says 'hi' to the 'crazy German'. He's a big fan! I would imagine that mileage would be extra. The £300 would be for the bike and things like tyres maybe. Since this is the first time they've done a bike service, I would start off with the idea that you drive the discussion, up to a point.
It will betaxex at spurce as an extra salary allowance (if you're paying tax ) then you can claim off the company the mileage you cover in business miles at whatevrer their rate is. If it is less than the HMRC rates <10k 40p per mile, over 10k 25p per mile (think these are still current but its about that) then you can claim the difference in relief from the tax man. Google it, there are ads of calculators out there. Btw this is car rates; bike ones I think are less
Well I know motorbikes are 24p a mile. So fuel wise not that bad, monster drinks about 24 pounds a 100 miles so I would think smaller cc jap would be bit cheaper. We will see just in case I go want to know what is what and if it is worth it. New bike of some sort would be about 200gbp per month so 100 per month left for rubber and other service. Does not look that good no more unless buying used bike instead of new.
Ha ha just read my own post...and english is my first language?! Blaming the ipad.... It will be taxed at source I was trying to say, the £300 that is
Are there any companies that do lease hire for bikes? That would cover all bike services, tyres, road tax etc, then you could ask the company for a fuel card linked to the bike so they also pay for the fuel.
Doesnt sound like they are offereing a company bike, just an allowance towards the running costs. If you could get that, remember again being taxed but no running costs....
I know of few HP companies frankly even Ducati monster deal (the 3y one) would do. Did not think of that.
