I little bit of knowledge needed please..........

  1. Not another suspension setup request, just a problem I need to remove....... Bought 749s 2003, Pirelli corsas fitted, front had the centre 2inch section raised between the tread sipes, this caused the bikes handle bars to turn into a corner when starting the entry, I have since fitted Metz z8's and this has stopped completely and felt great, then I spent a whole day setting sag etc, on my first run (before tuning damping etc) I noticed that the handle bars turn in quite hard on entry to a corner, same problem, please help.... Which suspension adjustment would cause this, or better still what do I need to do to decrease this issue, I'm getting nowhere after trying all sorts, including resetting all settings apart from the sag.
    Thx
    Andy

  2. Do you mean tyre stepped? I had this and as I'm quite heavy with the front brakes was told it could be this.

no doubt some someone will be along soon to offer better advice and tell me I'm talking shite!

  3. Pirelli corsa 3's??? My front on my Daytona 675 had done it after only 1700 miles, I was told its because there crap tyres! Some say it's down to wheel alignment, could be I guess but I have seen a ton of people saying this is happening too them, interesting most seem to be Pirelli (my mates has also done it on his 748).

  4. No, not stepped like a 50 pence piece but more like a band was added to the very centre of the tyre consistent around the circumference, when you lean over the bike falls a bit which is ok but the amount of force you need to countersteer is very high or else the wheel just wants to turn in on itself. When it first happened it was violent enough to stand me up in the corner!

  5. Yes I saw that, but when I fitted the new metzelers it was lovely, it's only since setting the suspension for me that it came back, I returned all setting to pre new tyres apart from sag adjustments and it's still there, surely it cannot be sag that is causing this handling"

  6. Won't be sag, perhaps too little compression damping or too little rebound damping but I am sure others will be able to give a clearer idea.

  7. Check your tyre pressure. A low tyre pressure will make the bars "drop in" when you lean the bike over.

  8. Picture may help.

Ther are some good vids on youtube, English guy in the states, search something like 848 suspension set up he looks a bit clint Eastwood in shorts...check his vids as in a couple he explains different tyre wear and suspension problems which make them

  9. Hit that one, 2.4 bar as per metzeler tech data, tried up and down, very little change....

  10. If the forks are set high in the yokes (how many rings can you see ?) that will cause the bike to turn in quick ....to "slow" it up drop the fork tubes out of the yokes

  11. Are you thinking of Dave Moss Paul?

Here is one of the many U tube videos of him:Two Clicks Out 12: Shredding A Rear Tire - YouTube

  12. Yeah I think thats him.

  13. Thank you, I'm starting to watch these now, let you min who's I get on.........

  14. I had them Corsa 3's on the streetfighter when I picked it up and the front was fine along the centre line but completely stepped and fucked on both sides. Seems to be a trait of them, my rear was hardly half worn. Had the Z8s fitted to a superduke and the're a great tire. I actually found them a bit slow on the turn in but very stable.
