As many of you seem to be involved in music I am looking for a band to play near Banbury, Oxfordshire on Saturday 4th May 2013 for the UKMOC Weekender If anyone is interested and available please PM me with your costs and some sort of demo There is a possibility of a room for the night at the venue also I have a couple of options so far but nothing that is really floating my boat :smile: Cheers Char

Just be careful Char.......my daughter is a solo vocalist and one thing I have learned over the time I've been carrying her PA kit and doing her sound is don't go for a one trick pony band that can only do one 'style' of song. Variety is the answer for a mixed group of people to enjoy the evening......your knacked if your band only does heavy rock, soul, modern pop, disco or any other small niche music......however much you may like that type of music, many others in the room may not. Try to get a sense check of the age mix if possible too and get them to tailor the set list to suit your audience....remember your paying for what you want, not what they want you to have. Just from my experience of course.
I will know 90% of those attending - a pretty mixed bunch but most of a similar age but yes no doubt will not suit all whatever I do I have a good deeeejayy lined up as well - lets hope they're pissed enough to not care 'Bitter & Twisted' have been recommended I have a few months to do some 'live research'
