just about to order new chain and sprocket's for the 750, and noticed the rear is 37 teeth, should it not be a 40 toother??
Stock sprockets on the 750 are 15 / 37....... The 600 has 15 / 41, so I reckon the 400 is about the same, just in case you meant that. Alternatively..........go to the dentist. AL From the 1997 owners handbook.....

What's on the front? This may be helpful if you scroll down ducatipaso.org • View topic - 750SS sprockets
I got the above info from here Ducati Motorbike Sprocket Specifications for Chain Gang Sprockets and Chains
Thanks I'll get them ordered now, just out of interest the 400 has a 45 rear and a 16 front (if I counted right). Thanks all.
Really handy webpage. Tells you what you should have and what difference changing the teeth makes. http://www.gearingcommander.com//
I have kept mine with the stock set-up.........it's a bit jerky in town, but on the open road, it seems fine and leaves me plenty of revs in hand........80mph is about 4000rpm.
So bought a JT chain and sprocket kit, had MOT on Saturday (failed on broken head light braket) but when I fitted the chain tensioned it but was a long way down the chain adjusters. Just noticed the box has 98 written on it, should be a 96 I believe. So now need to sort that out too before MOT retest on Saturday morning, me thinks it's going to be one of those weeks:Grumpy:
96..???................Christ, what diameter is it?............ Ah......you mean the chain, not the sprocket..............
