Hi guys, I am a sound recordist based in Bristol and I'm hoping to find someone who will let me record the sound of their Ducati driving at speed. The recordings will hopefully get used for a sound effects library I am working on. Unfortunately I can't give many more details other than that right now. What I would like to do is mount some radio microphones around the exhaust and engine of the bike and let you ride around at speed either on an empty road or track. I need to capture as many sustained acceleration sounds and engine noise at high speeds for as long as you can manage. We have have considered the option of doing this under dyno test conditions, but we would prefer to do this out in the open. Having said that, if you can suggest somewhere that we might be able to do this as well then we are open to that as well. Thanks for your time, and any help/suggestions you can offer will be greatly appreciated.

I would like to partake in this but to be honest the only way this could happen is on a track day. How would you make this work with the other bikes out on track at the same time? I certainly cant afford to hire a track for the day:flushed:
Wasn't this con tried last year? Saw it on this site & on therevcounter. Wants brand new bikes...will meet for cash...few hours... kidnapping/stolen bike sort of thoughts popping up.
I'm just guessing here, but despite the lavish, no expense spared production, it didn't get very far up the hit parade?
That was a young fella called Tim i believe, was recording sound for a video game (i seem to remember).
Unfortunately next year will be too late for the project I'm currently working on...although I may have to come along anyway just for fun.
We are looking at options which include the possibility of hiring somewhere private so we can get the exact sounds we need. Alternatively we are looking for somewhere disused or some long quiet stretches of road we can use somewhere around the South West. Do you have any suggestions, does anything come to mind?
Here's an example of some motor vehicle sounds I've work on in the past. We're looking to Ducatis for a different kind of flavour now.
You do realise it November, you will get fuck all Ducati's out in the UK this time of year as they are Italian temperamental sons of bitches with ocd owners (allegedly). Now book us on a Spanish track day all expenses and i'm in
Thats pretty awesome work. It's a shame you didn't ask a month or two earlier when the weather was better as we're getting into dirt bike mode for the winter now and unlikely to find the time to get out. Our next track trip is three days at Calafat, Spain in February if you could make something happen?
