Sounds like he is out of the woods. Hope he makes a full recovery. Not sure if he will ever race again though. Very sad.
Terrible news. Imho he should have given up after that horrific IOM crash. But guess he seems to have nothing else in his life as important. Hope he recovers quickly and fully.
Unbelieveable, i've never ever met the legend, but he comes across as a proper nice chap considering what he has achieved on the island.
Horrible news, really like Hutchy he’s a great down to Earth guy,..wishing you the best recovery possible mate
Best wishes go out to Hutchy and i hope he makes a full recovery. Poor bugger, he's had more than his fair share of hurdles put before him.
That nasty accident he had shortly after the 5 in a row IOM TT messed him up big style. You simply can’t recover from shit like that. Shame. We’ll be left to wonder how dominant he might have been…
I had the pleasure of meeting him on a track day, a very humble and quiet person who let his racing do the talking for him. He has certainly had some hard knocks over time and this news is unbelievable. As mentioned he was never going to recover fully from his injuries. A great shame.
Having just had a minor minor stroke a couple of months ago I really feel for him. One second you are ok, the next your talking gibberish. I have been so so lucky in that the only hangover if you like is problem with occasional words and nothing else. I hope that Ian has the same
You'll have to kill Hutchy before he dies. I wish him all the best and a speedy recovery. He'll prob still win the TT after that.
He had it fused. In other words it’s fixed, no up or down movement in the ankle joint (or sideways either).
Phew. I was thinking it might mean losing the foot, too, or having a prosthetic ankle. Mind, fused ankle is hard enough.
Sad & condolences to family & friends Lots of ops lots of metalwork means increased likelihood of embolism / clot - stroke a friend died 2 weeks after discharge with massive ops from a pulmonary eMobile’s n
