Don’t be shy - we love anodised accessories and bolts and will in no way say anything negative at all about them if you show us! :p

  7. I know ‍♂️of all colours to pick but will give me a project to keep me busy the rest of winter. I’m sure I will be on here looking some advice identifying certain bolts fitting etc

  8. My mate fitted a purple oil filler cap to his sthou, he still hasnt lived it down and swears it was blue. It wasnt. If you are reading this [name redacted] you are a daft c*nt and everyone who knows you thinks so too.

Ultimately, it is about you and your taste. What anyone else thinks is neither here nor there. If you like it, then everyone else can do one.

There is a thread where someone took a 1199 too far on anodized bling. But again, their taste so we can all do one.

  9. Can I just pull this out and replace it with the stock part or is it holding up something under tension?

  10. Pull it out; please. For the love of God, pull it out:joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy:

  11. The bolt that’s holding up the rear suspension passes through it so you need to take the weight off the suspension to pull that bolt out.

  15. If you are going to be taking that particular bolt out you should search the forum for posts on Flat rate vs Progressive linkage positions.

It’s currently in the Progressive position which is supposed to be more suitable for road riding and occasional pillion use. Lot’s of solo riders like to change it over to Flat rate and definitely do if they are using the bike on track.

If you are going to the effort of supporting the rear of the bike to change out the anodised part then you may as well decide if you want to change the setting while you are at it.

  16. Good to know will have a look it’s mostly road riding so may leave as is. If a second person just holds the rear end up will that be enough to get the bolt out and back in ok?

  17. I’ve got a black titanium one I’ve just removed that you can have for cheap. :upyeah:
