Ie9

  1. Is anyone else finding that Internet explore 9 is really unstable at the moment? Mine is crashing about 6-10 times a day at work and at home on my laptop its gone to shit. I had even done a fresh install on my laptop but im still having isues. I stuck Chrome on as an alternative and that runs fine but Im not 100% sold on Chrome.

  2. I suggest always keep your IE one version before the latest one. When IE8 comes out, stick to IE7, when IE9 is released stick to IE8, etc. Microsoft seem to release versions prematurely and debug them later with updates.

  3. And when IE10 comes out stick with Firefox

  4. No problems here, running Windows 7 64 bit. I've found it to be stable and in a few tests I have run it is about the same speed as Chrome to load pages

  5. What advantage does IE have over all the other browsers (which don't crash)?

  6. It's approved by Microsoft to be compatible with their operating system.....and synchronized crashing can occur in harmony.

  7. I'm with Anth on this one, Firefox without problems.

  8. I am having the same problems with mine, keeps crashing every now and then, would like to revert back to 8

  9. Ie9 is currently the fastest browser and only one fully supporting html5 (apparently as others do it quite well). It was first to introduce hardware acceleration for websites and at the moment only Firefox has a web engine that can rival that, just. Chrome is slightly behind. Pete1950 I am on ie10 now so your theory is not working. Ie10 is proper fast, stable and hardware acceleration is now working not only for websites but entire browser so everything in it, flash, html5, java good huge boost.

  10. So how are you finding the Windows 8 release preview?

  11. Actually you are behind there was developer preview, release preview, customer preview and now officially for selected few me including (unofficially on torrent sites) rtm or release to manufacture as in full & ready. I use it on tablet and love it, in fact got so used to its speed and stability that will also put it on desktop. Using it with mouse/keyboard is dead easy if you know 10 basic keyboard shortcuts.

  12. If you have only recently got it, there has been little chance for any weaknesses and vulnerabilities to become apparent. Good luck with that, and let us know in a month or two. In the meantime I have no wish to be an early adopter (i.e. unpaid tester). Happy to leave that to you.

  13. 6 months, from early phases. Not strictly unpaid at the end I can buy full win8 for 10usd and full office for 10usd.

  14. Had enough of IE crashing every 2 minutes, Cant really get on with Chrome I felt as if Google was being far to intrusive. I have not used Firefox for a few years, its come on along way and ITS FUCKING STABLE phew

  15. You could also start Ie9 go to internet options, then advanced tab and then tick use software rendering instead of gpu rendering.

  16. The only real disadvantage with Firefox is that every second time you use it, it wants you to install an update.
So it's Safari for me (even if they've just tinkered with it and the old one seemed more intuitive).

  17. Yep Safari it's awsome never crashes! JUST RESTARTS! Grrrrr iCrap.... ;)

    They all crash!
