**IF** someone has been done for speeding and lets say **IF** that person already has six points on his (or her) licence - but let's say, those last three points were hand written on the counterfoil part of that said person's licence, by the kind Driver Division Team of Essex police, let's say just over a year ago - what would be the situation if said person couldn't find the counterfoil part of their licence and so had to apply for a replacement licence at the same time as paying their fine for their new offence (but this time to the kind Kent Constabulary)? Would those original hand-written three fixed points have been recorded on said person's DVLA computer driver licence records? or would they be sadly lost in the ether somewhere? .... :Clown:
PePiPoo: Helping the motorist to get justice But be Uber careful as old billy check the site. Redact any personal information or numbers. At the end of the day you are pissed off you've been caught again. It's a driving offence, don't make it criminal (unless you already are on that path). After 17 years of trouble free driving (zero points or accidents) and riding I got a ban for 107MPH in a 50mph. It's only 50MPH 'cause Staines can't be bothered to fix the road to EU dual carriage way standards. The Mutley is so fast I thought I was doing about 70Mph when I saw the safer partnerape van. Didn't even expect a ticket in the post. Mainly as I didn't know it wasn't a 70MPH DUAL CARRIAGE WAY!!! 28 day ban, smacked arse (3x female magistrates) and no points (which would have wiped any points I had anyway), £400 plus £75 costs* (victim charge...I was expecting this as a refund)? Makes bugger all difference (at age 48) to any insurance quote (well may be £50). Please don't mention advanced Rider or IAM to the magistrates, as they have no sense of humour. Note my younger brother was doing 30Mph (slower at exactly the same time) and got 6 points and a £375 fine plus costs. His makes a much bigger difference on insurance quotes. PM for help and sympathy.
What speed was your friend doing and what was the limit? Any schools, old peoples homes or hospitals near by? Are we talking 3-6 points or a ban?
Thanks for your understanding Guys. My friend will only get another 3 points on his license which will take it up to 9 and three will come off by the end of the year anyway. My friend was just pissed off that's all and he just wondered... The camera, I have been reliably informed by my friend, was on anti-clockwise just before J5 on the M25. One of those new unmarked bastards! My friend was only doing a recorded 68 in a 50 so he's not gonna contest it. Bastards! hahaha! Thanks Aircontech - but I reckon my friend'll manage to get over it .... BASTARDS! :Muted: But OUCH! 107 with a clean license near Staines - it wasn't the staines bypass was it? or the Egham bypass? I live in Egham! - of course, my friend lives somewhere else! hahaha!...
Staines bypass ma'laud, moment of madness, never to repeated, previous exceptional record blah blah..completely lost on the cast of Macbeth act 1 scene 1.
Christ! My friend uses that stretch of tarmac sometimes and he tells me, he's sometimes been a little injudicious with his red line in his higher gears along there to say the least! mmmm ... unmarked Ford Focus I expect?... I was only "making progress" officer....
I had a hand written sp30 on my old paper licence and yes DVLA know all about it, more's the pity. Clean now though
I bumped into PC Martin Ackers last week............luckily it was in a shop..............had a long-ish chat with him and found him a more pleasant type of Plod than some......... ..........hopefully it moght do me some good if I'm ever over the speed limit on the A12.............. ...........but I doubt it.
Did you just say the A12?!?! How weird is that?! That's where my friend tells me he got HIS last 3 points - the ones before he just got the 3 on the M25!
