  1. Cheaper to run than a Desmo...

  2. No , because that bike sold for £14,000 , I know that because I had it in my watch list , its been relisted quite a few times , the last time for £25,000 .
Yes I would buy one I happen to think they are an awesome bike , but then I am into the flat track look big time.
I wouldn't buy that bike at that price simply because the seller bought it to make a big profit and I wouldn't give him the satisfaction of making that profit.
These bikes are hard to get hold of and make good money , this one in particular would be ideal as its road legal , they are all minus the front brake as they are competition bikes.
This is the bike Evel rode even though he preferred Triumph .
Iconic and would be my choice if I had the money , but I'd get an unmolested racer from the states.

  4. Does look good - I have been liking a few HD's recently... really fancy a matte black 883 sportster iron

  5. as an extra bonus it comes with an oil leak and dented frame

  6. are you sure

  8. You wouldn't give £14k for it.

  9. theirs two in kinlochleven. very tidy. good looking bikes.

  10. Wouldnt even give £3,600 for it. Its a Harley. I understand the Evil Knievel link up and that would be the only reason I would buy one. But not for £36k. At the end of the day its an agricultural mechanism bound up in the hype of Americana.

I like flat track look too but if I wanted a 'competition' flat track, i'd go Kenny Roberts Yamaha Stylee.

However, we are all different. Whats floats my boat may not necessarily float others and vice versa. But is it worth £36k. I dont think so. £18k maybe, if it is what it pertains to be and only if.

  11. i see 4.5k in it.

  12. I would for an original racer circa 78 ish .

Then the rest I'd put that bike at £12,000 . As I said it was on my watch list and it went for £14000 , it was immediately relisted by the new owner at £22k , then its steadily gone up to £25k now £36 all from the same bloke/company I don't get what hes trying to do , anybody seriously interested in these bikes must have seen what hes doing , I have . Maybe hes hoping to strike lucky with a rich punter.

  13. I think the important thing to consider with HD is that you can have fun a lot less illegally than on a Ducati. You don't have to be going that fast, you don't have to be exploring the outer reaches of performance, braking, power and handling. HDs give another sort of satisfaction.

I've only ridden a couple. The 1340 motor I found a hoot, although it made me seasick idling at traffic lights. The 1100 Sportster vibrated like a very shaky thing and I found it uncomfortable and horrible. Needless to say, neither had any brakes to speak of. It was all quite some years ago, but are they any different now? I doubt it.

Still, for all the fun, being on something that doesn't handle or brake is more likely to see you end up in a ditch than being on something that does both, with proper sticky tyres.

  14. That 750 had 90bhp and was good for 120mph when raced on the mile ovals . with no front brake .

  15. if push came to shove i would have the xr1200

  16. Now that is a lardy lump .Lol.

  17. This is a Ducati forum?
