I'll Be Back Soon.... Hopefully

  1. As Above. Finally the other half agreed to me getting another hyper. Supermoto is in the for sale area.... Not sure if I want to suffer assholes on eBay yet and if it doesn't move I may break it up... Not sure... But in a perfect world I'll be getting an 1100s or an evo sp....

  2. Deposit paid. Evo sp incoming. Should collect it at the end of the month. I don't think my mortgage slush account can take anymore battering!

Its over in Kent at the moment.... I gotta get the ktm up for sale this week.... Not too bad if it doesn't sell straight away... Just shows my other half that I'm commited to selling it... Its definately going whole or if I have to break it which I don't really want to do.... Planning on getting it first week of April...

  5. Could have gotten an 821 (and I did consider it) but i really loved my evo so this looked like the next logical step....

  6. Hi Comfy,
Welcome back. Your new Hyper looks very "sorted" and I love the SC Exhausts. I thought you were looking for more of a Hyper that required rebuilding.
    Cheers Moses.

  7. Well, it was one way or the other...this one I'm planning on keeping....im kinda at the age where I now know what I want...ive had the last 8 years or owning, buying and selling bikes (as everyone does) but ive kept coming back to the same types....2nd z1ooo, 3rd hyper, 1st sports bike....so based on that I think I'm sorted now...what ive got ill probably keep and if I were to sell on id only get a newer type of the same thing....but there are no more 1100 hypers...the evo sp is at the top. I didn't seriously consider the 821 as its not got the low end grunt and the 939 sp is off the scale on price. If I was to change the rsv4 id just go for a newer one but I'm not prepared to shell out an extra 8k for an electronics package plus ill never see the limit of mine.....the zed, if wanted something else it would be a 1290 superduke but I probably wouldn't as the SD is physically a big bike and the zed is tiny (kinda short, stocky and fat - a bit like me)...which is what I like...

Theres a few things to do on this one...I noticed in the pics ive got its got a stock clutch master cylinder so ill be ordering an oberon on today. I want to change the mirrors back also to the foldy ones but that can wait, ill just have to keep my eye out of some...ill probably partially strip it to get it cleaned up. The pics aint brilliant but if its on stock brake and clutch lines ill change to hel, ill probably change the clutch pressure plate to an oberon one also (I just like the style of it). On the plus side I think from what I can see theres a set of m50's on the front also...which is nice.

Long term: when the engine needs to come out itll be getting the xylan treatment - the coating on the ktm is amazing....2 seconds to make it look like new...I did see a cat c hyper on ebay but when the other lad on here did the same thing then found out the frame was creased, that put me off as he had to order a frame from the states and now has to strip it again..

I will confess I'm kinda shying away from electronics as what ive got in the garage I can essentially tackle myself with regards to maintenance - the most electronic thing is the 3 maps on the rsv4 (its a pre aprc) and that's got a modded ecu on it - ive got the software on the laptop to plug it in so I can see any faults....the other 2 are beautifully analog plus Louigi motos is but 20 mins away....this one's got a power commander on it (so that'll be coming straight out) and going to Chris at CJS...it'll be interesting to see what he can get out of it with that full system on there...

  8. Bike looks very nice, and sounds like it'll be even better when you've "Fine tuned it"

  9. Yip - well, not me, Chris at CJS will be doing that - ill just be watching from outside the dyno room, phone in hand videoing him emptying a tank of fuel...

If you mean "fine tuned" as in the look of it, yeah - I'm very particular about the "look" of my bikes - they have to be exactly right for me....sounds a bit shit but that's the way I am...

  10. What ew doing for air box? You fitting stacks?

  11. I think its already got them on there....but ive not had a definitive answer from him yet...if not ill be looking for some....it would be criminal not to with those 2 drainpipes fitted...

  12. Exhausts look awesome. They're the only aftermarket ones I like. I would have tried to get some if my shortening of the standard ones hadn't worked out.

  13. Yeah - just got off the phone to him (random questions) he's going to double check for the airbox.....theres quite a bit of life on the tyres. Currently its good enough to just ride, for me anyway although ill probably do the clutch master as a priority (it makes a big difference) the rest can come gradually....not sure if I can afford Chris straight away - need to get some cash back in my mortgage account!
