Got my new multistrada 1200s 5 weeks ago and have covered 2000 miles. This is my 4th 1200s and it is not nearly as comfortable as the old model. The seat is much narrower which tends to push me forward (designed for shorter riders) Tried the comfort seat but only marginly better. Am now having a custom seat made. Does anyone else have the same problem? The hesitation on immediate acceleration is only slight but it makes the power delivery so different from the old model. It is better at low revs but not sure the trade off is worth it.
I test rode a 2012 standard model 1200 and I found an annoying hesitation off a closed throttle. I thought is was worse in Sport and switched back to Touring. It can be removed with a custom remap. If your only other issue is the seat you should be able to get the original reupholstered and reshaped for £100 - £150 and a remap for about £400. If you're having a remap though, it pays to think about decatting and any other changes you might want to make first so you get the full benefit from it. That's why I didn't buy an MTS. It was a second bike with a budget to stick to and the cost of fixing the list of small niggles put the mockers on it.
