Not many people know about this man's achievements back on that famous day, so this is in honour of Paul,Rip It runs for 7.42 minutes but well worth it.
Most retellings of the Imola '72 race usually miss out the fact that Spaggiari was miles ahead on the last lap, but ran out of petrol, allowing P Smart to catch and pass him just before the line and go down in history as the winner of the race, with Spaggiari coasting in in second place, giving Ducati their glorious debut twin cylinder win. These were Ducati's first road-based V Twin racers (they'd raced a 500 GP V Twin in '71) and Imola had been slated for their unveiling, hence the win was a massive coup at such a prestigious race https://www.ducati.com/ww/en/heritage/bikes/750-imola-desmo
Thanks so much for the video, I thoroughly enjoyed it, a genuine piece of Ducati history, very poignant with the unfortunate passing of Paul Smart
I'm just waiting for another number 46 in limited numbers placed on the brand, do you think the factory are cheeky enough for round two, but which model i don't know.
