Imola 904 project

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by desmohog, Jul 7, 2012.

  1. The project started with a bare 900GTS frame and tired '91 900SS engine, each purchased for 250 quid

Some may find the following butchery offensive:

Fabricated the Y by cutting and splicing tube

Made a roller to fabricate the megaphone....notice the Harley kicker for a handle and moped front sprokets

  6. If my project is half as good as this I'll be very happy!

  7. Nice work! Just my two ha'porth... I have a similar home brewed rear caliper hanger, based around the Superlight type, to give a floating action, and as soon as there was any wear in the bush which the spindle passes through, the caliper mounting bolts wore a groove in the disc. I sorted it in a MkII version, which had a grease nipple, and a tighter interference fit.

Just got my lathe up and running last week. Don't think that Im competent enough yet with it to attempt anything too complex though!
