I was riding for 2 hrs in the pouring rain on m4 and neutral light came on and gear indicator said 'N' very unnerving but other than that it didn't slow down no other lights. Any ideas what i should be spraying with WD40 or doing. Off to mugello wednesday so panicking. as an aside also had a brown trouser moment in standing water at 70 when all DTC light up and rear squirmed around , thought i was off! Regards Chris
its a ducati faults like this are not new have a 600 monster and it has been doing this for years, if it worries you remove the bulb from the warning light
It's probably corrosion inside the dash (but may be a faulty gear position switch?) - some were replaced (dash) under warranty. When it's wet, my oil warning light flashes in sync with the flasher indicator. Also, at night, there is a faint green glow emanating from 3 of the indicator lights, I think the neutral is in the group? I'm not too concerned as long as the dash still "works" and as I intend to keep the bike until 10 years old (when it will be near worthless), I'm not spending big bucks on items like this, just tyres, chains and servicing.
well just finished 2300 miles and no issues since. the dash does have crack in it, like you won't bother changing as long as it works. i was worried it was more serious.
Sounds like the dreaded water 'ingress of death'. Mine did that and new clocks done at 22,500 service so the mileage ties in with service light.
