Beware it's an MOT fail. Motorcycle LED Tail Light Integrated Turn Signals Ducati Hypermotard 2009-2012 | eBay
Many things are... I change mine before I take her in.... Ps the chain sprocket cover was one piece and not two... You have to take off the pillion brackets to get it out... The 796 is different set up to the 1100...
I know comfysofa bought one but had some issues with it. Thread on here somewhere and ducati ms (quite recently)
I did...couldn't get it working....eBay seller did refund me though.....someone on here put some of those bendy ones on the end of the side panels....looked really good plus it would go through not.
Mine was a Chinese one....there's a guy on there flogging them from the uk....he says his work.haven't had the money to try again yet.....been buying other goodies for it! Mind you his are 20 quid more ( about 65 I think) mine was about 45....academic though as it didn't work.
First I bought some of these LED indicators amber strip light streetfighter trike | eBay Cut out fairing so led’s poked through and glued in (this I had problems with as these led’s bend but not as much as I hoped. One set broke in middle and I had to buy a new set). I stuck a strip of metal from a tomato puree tube over the lights to help protect from the heat (works great) and then some heat resistant tape over the cabling. Rather that painting I just coloured over the gold tubing with a black permanent marker, sounds mad but works great you’d never tell when on bike. Wiring The left hand indicator (as if sitting on bike) is wired to green (OEM wire) to live, white/black (OEM wire) to negative. This is reversed for some reason on right where green is negative white/black is live ?? I cut original wires after OEM plug and fitted bayonet connectors I believe someone in the US sells the OEM plug tails but I couldn’t find them in the UK. I wired in a 25w 10 ohm resistor for each side in parallel (I tried a 25w 20 ohm and it made the light pattern a little erratic). I mounted the resistors to a thin sheet of aluminium and installed it behind the battery where there are 2 spare threaded holes in the sub frame (in front of exhaust under the rear wing thingy). I did this because I wanted the ability to easily remove it and put bike back to standard. I used another set of connectors just for ease of fitting/removal. I hope this makes sense (kind of does to me I think). This applies to a 796 maybe also 1100 evo but I think the earlier hypers are easier and don’t need resistors just reconfigure dash settings View attachment indicators.pdf
Issachunt That's superb just the kind of thing I'm looking for... Thanks for all your effort in explaining how you did this, fantastic... Noods
