Changing the stock indicators on my 1198s and looking for comments / revommendations Have had Motrax mini ones before but they were prone to falling to bits - the Oxford ones seem better but wouldlike soething different Looking at the Rizoma Graffio and also seen some weird square shaped Barracuda ones but not sure what they willlook like in the flesh Any recomendations or even better photos?
I'm guessing its rears your looking at? I converted my standard ones to LED, as I'm not keen on tiny indicators. I've had no problems with them, but have seen posts from some who have.
Not cheap Not cheap at all but Kellerman are nice products. I have the Micro 1000 but then they did not have the Rhombus version then. If doing it now I'd go with the Rhombus, match the front indicator shape, small and bright.. Kellermann-Online I imagine the 1198 is the same as the 1098. So just a note. I fitted the rear LED Kellerman..............no problems. Then I fitted the DP front mirrors with a different LED setup to standard mirrors. The flash rate is high when the ignition is on but return to normal with the engine running. Buggering about with resistors failed to improve the situation. Arthur Bikemad had similar weird going ons, slightly different though. These are truly bespoke machines John
Yes it is rears - sorry didnt mention Quite like the micro-rhombus kellermans - those opxford ones - cant work out what they look like ! They are like indicators that MC Escher would design ! I am also changing the mirrors to the Desmosedici style so I guess this may cause the problem decsribed above? I see that the rizoma ones come with resistors already but whether they would be the right resistance once the new indicator mirrors are on is anybody's guess!
Nelson On the 999 forward not sure of earlier, there is no flasher relay, it's controlled through the electronics on the dash. On an older machine I'd always recommend an electronic flash relay, price is about the same as resistors and you don't have to worry about the wiring or the heat generated. I suppose you could still wire the new models through an electronic flasher relay but it would be a good bit more work and I don't know how you would get the dash warning lights to work if you did. I like those as it follows the contours of the cans...wot would be nice is if you could make a pair that sit in the air vents next to the brake lights.

Have a nosey on some of the American sites, as mounting indicators behind the vent mesh is a popular thing to do over there.
That was an option when i took of my indicators. Im currently running a single intregrated rear light as I didnt fancy taking the vents apart everytime a buld went
