As you were …. 3 ducati top 5 and Bautista wins by 5 seconds!! Rea in real trouble on that kwaka…. Redding won’t end the season on that bmw imho. And looking like McKenzie really has taken any seat he can! Bautista could do another triple this is weekend. Wonder how many more rounds before they give ducati a technical restriction…
Quite frankly i'm not going lose too much sleep over the Ducati / Bautista package, when Kawasaki and Rea ruled for six years.
A certain Mr Redding looked distinctly unimpressed when he got back to the garage after retiring. Was hoping he'd go better on the Beemer this season, but looks like there is a lot of work to do and rumours that he might not last (relationship with BMW becoming fractious).
Going to bmw was a silly move. It can only be because of the money imo I reckon Taz’s decision wasn’t necessarily the worst decision. It’s a new team, newish bike and they’re on stock engines. Let’s see once they’ve got their act together
Don’t know who was listening to what but Sykes was sick and pulled in and Mackenzies on a stock bike “straight out the box at portimao” and will have upgrades in time for assen. It’s what he signed up for as he was desperate to leave bsb
Not watched the second SSP race yet but the sprint and race 2 in the big class were epic. Both green bikes making tits of themselves again made me lol (at least the six times world champion apologised though). Good to see Redding turn things around slightly in the sprint race. Wont spoil the main results
Well, that was entertaining…. Don’t do the dangle folks Rea over riding, lots of really tight passes, some like bassini unjustly penalised (it’s racing, not f*cking knitting!) Low s literally riding over people to pass, Rinaldi choking…. the Yams seem to have the pace of ducatis now. 5 out of 6 so far… what a start to the season for Bautista.
I'm not seen the latest races, but i certainly don't think Bautista will fall to pieces like a cheap suit like in 2019 based upon his win in 2022, he looks good on that Duke & gelling well with it for quite possibly back to back championships.
I’d wager the only races he won’t win are the ones he falls/gets knocked off in. Certainly for the foreseeable anyway.
He crashed today, pole race, and came straight back no problem. In 2019, he would have folded and crashed in the third too. He’s done it once. He’ll win again this year!
Just caught up with the racing. Great result but I am totally peed off with the anti-AB commentary. In the Superpole race, Rea barges AB onto the dirty part of the track and then unfortunately loses it. Commentary was that AB had “made a mistake”…pah.
And ‘here comes the ducati!’ On every straight when the Honda and Yamaha are clearly the same top end speed.
The coverage on Eurosport is like night and day when you compare it with how BT cover Moto GP. I dont even get the feeling Tossland and Haines are actually there live, merely sat in a broom cupboard watching it on tv like the rest of us. As for getting any kind of in depth or half useful information, just forget it. Shame really.
Appalling commentary, Toseland was calling Danilo, Danilly. Haines repeats himself on a 90 second loop and neither understand “less is more”. If you’ve got nothing constructive to say, don't say anything. I think in the whole weekend, Toseland said something interesting when he talked about tyre allocation in the final SBK race and the restart. Still haven’t got my head around how Lowes was allowed to restart after his bike was snapped in two. Time to see if the regs have been updated about having a second bike. Andy
Not just those two i mean poor camera work/editing/switching between vital moments, no one like Hodgy buzzing around the pit lane and garages getting up to date news from the riders and teams directly, no grid walk , etc...just feels really cheap.
It would appear a number of the cameras were mounted on cherry pickers and with the gusting wind, the platforms swayed about. For me, WSBK and MotoGP TV race coverage directors need their heads bashing together. I have absolutely no interest in what the rider’s girlfriend/wife/boyfriend/husband (choose whichever one you want) is doing in the pit box whilst there’s wheel to wheel, fairing bashing racing going on. But that’s been a grind for me for a long time. Andy
