1260 Innovv K2 Dashcam And Power Distribution Module??

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Norway123, Nov 26, 2020.

  1. Hi, Norwegian 1260 GT owner here. I am looking for tips regarding installation of Innovv K2 dashcam and a power distribution module (PDM 60 or Innovv powerhub). So if anyone can share their experience about camera locations, wire routing and whatever else that can be useful tips, it will be much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Lars Petter

  5. I was thinking about mounting the front camera hanging under the beacon and possibly route the cable somewhere trouth the steering head and then under some side panels. But not sure, still have to get my hands on the hardware. Trying to find a dealer who will sell without UK VAT since beeing outside EU I have to pay 25% Norwegian VAT on all imported goods.

  6. That's where I've fitted my front one. I'll try and upload some photos tomorrow when I'm up (on night shift atm)

  7. Is it connected directly to the battery, or via a power distribution module? Any issues with battery drain?

  8. Is it mounted directly to the battery? Any issues with battery drain?

  10. They’ve revised the power supply a couple of times; I have the original on my Kawasaki and it would drain the battery in a couple of days before I wired a relay in place. I think they have it sorted now though.

  12. IT IS VERY GOOD VIDEO QUALTY

  13. You must’ve gotten a good one, Billy - the video on mine (mounted under the lower triple of a Ninja 400) is crap, looks like I’m underwater and the whole picture is “wavy”. The front cam can’t handle the lighting contrast that comes from being mounted stealthily in the shade, so unless I’m riding through a tunnel/under a bridge/anywhere shady, it has extreme overexposure like it’s pointed at the sun. Faster SD cards don’t improve it - I’ve tried the fastest ones I can find.

The audio is so bad, I run a separate audio recorder, as the audio from the K2 sounds like a small child making motorboat sounds in a bathtub...in an echo chamber.

I’m glad it’s working better for you, though. It’s not so “shady” where your front cam is mounted, your mounts look nice & clean too. I’m getting inspired to move my K2 to my Multi, since I want more of a dash cam than an “action cam” on this bike and I won’t mind having it exposed. I’ll try my GoPro or Drift cam on the little bike.

Would you please share some info on the mount you’re using on the front and the light under it? I might try something like it.

  15. HI the lights come with 1260 so i just fitted it to them and on the back number plate
videos nice clear i don't use the sound on it

  16. Thanks - after watching a couple videos, I think my issues may be due to electrical interference, as the power supply, gps unit, and main unit are within a few inches of each other. The gps gives me a speed at random intervals, like once every several minutes to an hour, so I know it *kind of* works, but my biggest complaint is that it corrupts about half the files.

If interference is to blame, separating the components might solve all my problems with it (or some, or none of them). That would explain why so many people don’t have my issues (or don’t post about them).

  17. Wait a little longer and the UK won’t be in the EU, which may improve your position or you could try importing from the USA?

  18. Got in contact with "A Bike Thing". He sells without UK VAT and have a reasonable shipping cost. So I think I buy from him. He has a lot of videos on youtube about installing this system.

  19. I've mounted the stuf this way on my 1260S, took the power from the 12V socket cable (socket taken out)
The front camera has only very few shivers when running the engine in low revs and powering :)
The rear camera view is rock solid.
