I just went to look at cost to insure the 959 and I'm falling off my seat at the cost, outrageously expensive. Is it actually cheaper to insure the 1199 or a 1299, has anyone encountered the same, its this because its such a new model? My BMW S1000RR was cheaper by a country mile as they say.
i was getting quoted £350 just for the standard model 1299...959 cheapest was £450 then it jumped to £600......only paid £300 for S1000RR
I'm £300 this year fully comp on an 899 with 3 years NCB. I'm 30 but assume the postcode up in the north east helps. [emoji1]
£185 with Ducati Insurance for my Multistrada , 51 years of riding without a claim, being an old fart does have its advantages sometimes, except when trying to get on the bike.
Mine is around £550 with max NCD, I live in the Newb/Berkshire area and am 31. I was paying £160 for my 2013 Triumph Daytona 675r so yeah, quite a jump from that! my old 848 was around £450 though and I assume it's largely value and cost to repair them! not just the theft element.
New models are always ridiculous to insure on the first year of launch. Think insurance companies get a bit sketchy about this. I had the same experience when I bought the 848 evo and the 899 but I found that the 2nd year went back to a more realistic price.
Been getting quotes today as my bike is actually due next week Shocked at the prices and I'm actually thinking of pulling out of the deal It's 4x more expensive than a Kawasaki zx6 for example. Anyone suggest a good insurance company? I've tried all the comparison sites but they're all the same companies anyway. Cheers
I went with Bennets who were one of the cheapest as well as having the highest rating I could find too. [emoji4]
