Insurance For 2 Bikes

  1. has anyone got any recommendations for insurancing my 2 ducatis, ones a 1199 the other a 1198.got a quote for just under £200 for the panni on its own,but the cheapest so far for the two is £635 which i think is a bit steep

  2. I went with Hastings for this, they quoted a price for the dearest one, and literally added a few quid for the others as they said I could only ride one at once. A very refreshing attitude, but obviously with insurance, this will come down to area, security, NCD and age etc etc etc , so best just ringing around I reckon, but the guy from Hastings seemed very reasonable :)

  5. I had a few multibike quotes recently, all were more expensive than separate policies. In the end Bemoto were the cheapest, easiest to deal with and very helpful. If you mention 44teeth ( youtube channel) you get abit of a discount

  6. I have always gone with MCE for the cheap quotes but this year for the 1098R and an old R1 they were expensive - cheapest I found was Ducati Insurance this year and unlike MCE they seem to have a better reputation. When the documents came through the insurance is with LV who have a very good name for car insurance too :)

  10. ill give them a call tomorrow

  11. I tried, 1200 quid for a scrambler and a 749s! Everywhere else was less than 500, in the end, with separate policies it came to under 400

  12. Mine was the other way around. £986 for the Panigale and scrambler from Carole Nash (up from around £500 the year before with £600xs) and £412 from Dmc with the same cover but just a £250 Xs .

The proof of the pudding will be how they perform when it comes to the renewal next April.

  13. I moved to LV multi bike this year after high renewal offers from Ducati Insurance - worth getting a quote ,

  14. See my comments above, my Ducati Insurance was from LV - strange : unamused:

  15. After a lot of faffing I found Ducati Insurance the best, but you'll have to ring for a multi bike policy as thier online quotation system doesn't support it, and you can haggle them down over the phone! Mines £600 for an 1199S, 1098S, 1000ss & 749S, all with Termis and other assorted bling.

  16. 4 bikes on BeMoto for me - 630 quid fully comp with all the shit added (wheels, full system, ecu flashing etc etc) they even threw in RAC Gold cover also. 7 years no claims and one accident logged from about 4 years ago.

  17. £267 inc extras for the HYM 821SP and the Scrambler from Ducati Insurance here. But I'm an old(er) git I suppose.

  18. so i got it sorted today with bemoto for £410 which i was very happy about. ducati insurance quoted me £378 to start with but after checking with the underwriters about the paintjob on the panni,it went up to £497.what was interesting was that ducati insurance is he same company as wiked quotes, and dmc is the same as principal who i am insured with currently.after paying 238 with them last year for just the panigale, the renewal for that bike came in at £555,which is a massive increase

  19. Working in insurance now... so I suggest shopping around every year as you'll get the new customer discount every time you move. Also be aware that some underwriters/brokers will only allow you to have your NCB on one bike (unless its a multi-bike policy) so maybe worth looking into if you have two bikes on separate policies and you've used it twice.

Everyone's insurance has gone up as the underwriters are blaming a raise in IPT, the government cutting discounts and brexit.. when in essence they're just feathering their nests and using it as an excuse to increase premiums more.

A piece of advice is to look at the features, benefits and exclusions of the policies also as while getting a cheaper quote you may not be covered for the things you presume are standard and adding these will increase the premium considerably. Whilst paying a higher premium these features etc are standard so in effect may work out cheaper.

Also do a few quotes over a few days as underwriters change their prices on a daily basis.

I work for Ageas so know how they work.
