Insurance

  1. Says garaged.

Is it insured if in the house?

  2. Top tip - read the small print on the policy document; usually it is very specific about what's covered and what isn't. If all else fails just phone the company and ask them...

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  3. Ta, specific is 'garaged'

    Just thought I would ask.

  4. The insurance policy for my Honda CRF - as an example - states that if the bike is at home then it has to be locked in the garage between 10pm and 8am. The fact that it actually specifies the garage would lead me to believe that it wouldn't be insured if it was in the house instead. Insurance companies being what they are, they never miss a chance to avoid paying out...

  5. What do you think of the Hondas?

  6. The CRF ?
Brilliant - a quantum leap from its predecessor ( a KE100 Kawasaki ) and it has far more ability than I have skill !
I'm still learning to trust its ability and actually believe that it will go where I point it...

  7. I have bikes insured in the house - I have made them put a specific note on their system as I was wary of this too. The only option near on Footman James's list at the time was 'Other Brick Building' but I also asked for a note to say in the house with fuel drained and battery removed - you can't trust them...

  8. Very wise - cos the danger is that you thus invalidate your house insurance! (I once wanted to stick a bike in the hallway of a large ground-floor flat but the home insurer was clear that I was not allowed.)

  9. If your house burned down and the loss-adjuster found the remains of a burnt-out motorbike in the living room, you might have difficulty establishing your insurance claim.

  17. Despite popular belief (and porn), good looking lezzies are very thin on the ground

  18. Mostly true, I don't know. I do know we have a cracker at work. Quite senior, too. And yes - I would, and I'd shove ET out the way to do so.
