Hi - I have read many threads about drops in power and I think I have got it down to 2 possibles but thought I would ask if anyone can give some input. After about maybe 60 miles the throttle response seems like it is bogged down momentarily. it downs this for maybe a few hundred yards or so and then clear but not completely. Then sometimes it may do it again and sometimes not. This is also my first Multi and I'm not always convinced it is always giving full power at best. My thoughts are either MAP sensor related or HT leads - ( The exhaust valve flap has been deleted ) Regards Mick
Stuck exhaust valve - https://healtech.co.uk/shop/exhaust-servo-eliminator-ese/ Plenty to search on the forums - https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/exhaust-valve-eliminator.96009/
Thanks Freshage but my issue isn’t to do with the valve as it has been removed physically and deleted from the ECU in re-map , I suspect MAP sensor or HT lead and wondered if anyone had a similar issue with these ?
Front HT leads are a comon fault on the DVT Multistradas, though I thought an improved part was fitted to the 1260. Combination of heat and spray off the front wheel results in insulation breaking down. If it's the MAP sensor I'd expect the engine management light on the dash to light up and an error code stored.
Good old horizontal HT lead issue I think my 748's had the same issues. As for the 1200 DVT, maybe this could be prevented by a engine guard from Evotech or similar? @Speedie I use this and it really helps keep the spray and elements from hitting the front cylinder. https://evotech-performance.com/products/ducati-multistrada-1200-engine-guard-protector-2015-to-2017
I have one of these fitted to my 1260 and at 23,000 miles I haven't had an issue with the ignition leads on the horizontal cylinder yet... touch wood.
Hi both - Yes I agree about the guard but it won’t quite fit with factory crash bars on the GT but I’m sure I can fabricate something or even maybe look at modifying the guard I have . I’ll get and lead and plug first .Ta mick
