Hi all any iPhone gurus on here? I’ve recently swapped phones but wasn’t able to do a direct iPhone to iphone transfer of my contact list so exported it from the old phone in a vcf/vcard format. When importing it to my new iPhone it duplicates data - so if I had a phone number, address and email on the old iPhone it creates 3 entries on the new iPhone. So instead of uploading what I expected to be about 2200 contacts, I end up with over 6600!! anyone know how I can edit the vcf file, remove any duplication and make sure what gets uploaded to my new iPhone is useable? ta! Pete
Don’t you sync your contacts with iCloud? You should be able to just log on with your account and they will appear
I think there is an option in contacts to search for duplicates and then combine or delete them? Might need to be on a Mac laptop though. There are applications to remove duplicates but not sure which work on a phone
Well I’ve managed to open the file in excel to review the data and whilst some is readable/useful, a lot looks corrupted
