Well, the question is in the title... So what are your thoughts? Can such a bike really take me from the dreaded north circular M25 to the coast line of Positano, Italy (my favorite place in Italy) to the rough roads of outback snowy Russia etc etc. Is it really a bike to take to all locations? General curiosity.
Don't see why not. On the right tyres and the right point, you'll be able to bring Ducati Red to hidden corners of the globe
This chap has been round the world on a Yamaha R1 - Home So I'd of thought a multistrada would survive, although personally Id choose the ABS to do it on as I'd be shit scared the electronics would let me down
I once drove up a muddy farm track in the middle of winter whilst it was raining... On my 748... That was not the brightest moment of my life, and my poor bike suffered because of it.
Its the way to go....but if you want a "rugged" off roader go for a 1200 Tenere or BMTroubleU GS. But again, its downt to what you want and expect of a bike. Any bike will pretty much go anywhere within reason.
There was an italian guy who went round the world on one it was a couple of years ago, i am sure there was a thread on here about it? Lets face it it has been done on R1's BMW's and i am sure i saw something on a student who rode back from Australia on a C90 As has been said there are dealers all over the world, use them as part of the trip. It is something i would love to do
Paolo Pirozzi - around the world in 80 clubs. Ducati - Around the world in 80 clubs -Paolo Pirozzi But the point is that any bike will make it if you (a) look after it and (b) know it well enough to fix it when things go wrong. There are countless number of people who ride up/down/around the planet on various bikes from C90s through to BMW GS.
