1260 Is My Fuel Sensor Malfunctioning?

  1. I only got my bike last week. It's done 1,500 miles and has had its first service

The fuel light came on today after 114 miles after a fill up. I'd only sat on the motorway, and did 51.4mpg. Apparently the range is 40 miles, making the overall 150 miles... at 51.4mpg..??
That doesn't seem right at all to me, it feels pessimistic.
I'm going to fill up the bike after work today to see how many litres I've used.

How many miles do you get before the fuel light comes on?

  2. Mine comes on between 150 and 170 miles, depending on how I'm riding.

  3. Yep, that's what I'd expect. Hence the question

  4. I'm with Groundhog. Would try a few more tanks though and see how it fares.

  5. My apparent fuel consumption improved as the miles were added. Now get the light at around 150 miles. Can manage a range of 200 miles if riding sensibly (doing IAM at the moment).
