Is The 1200s Worth The Extra?

  1. Hello,
From what I can read, the difference between the 1200 and 1200S is better forks/front brakes, 10bhp and a colour dash. I think. Life was simpler with my Evo, as there was only one choice ;)

Are these differences worth the extra £3000? I can't see the better shocks making that much difference to the ride (well to me anyway, relatively speaking), the brakes surely will be good enough anyway as they wouldn't have put shit stuff on it and so the only plus of note is the colour dashboard?

But would buying the lesser 1200 have an adverse affect on resale such as difficulty due to everyone wanting the 1200s, etc.

  2. I think everyone is going to want the S in a year or so's time when they start to come on the market 2nd hand. I'm thinking about a new Monster and I'll go straight for the S if I ever take my thumbs out of my arse and do something about actually getting a test ride and buying one!... especially if I can find an aftermarket supplier who can swap the bloody hideous electronical dash malarkey for a proper set of analogue twin clocks! :Dummy:

  3. I had the same dilemma when I bought my 1100 monster a few years ago. I rode both and decided that for my level of ability the extra money on the s was not worth it . No problem selling it when the time came.
