Hi all, Sold the 848 on Sunday and bought a Hypermotard today! Very happy! Just hope I don’t need to stop, I can’t reach the ground! I have included the required image with bins.
Very nice. I test rode one a few weeks ago. As fun road bikes go it takes some beating. So much get up and go in that engine. personally, noise wise, I can’t see much benefit to changing the exhaust system, it already makes a great sound.
Oh man! I’m having so much fun. My face is sore from smiling! I loved that 848 so much, but just one ride on the hypermotard was enough to know I have done the right thing. I’m no longer buckled over like a hoop, I can see behind me and I’m not constantly between 2nd and 3rd! One problem, I blew the number plate clean off tonight... it has a RG tail tidy on it and was sold with a standard plate. It sat right over the end cans. I guess I’ll have to get a small plate now then...
Here's the info if you're going to trim down a plate to the legal minimum like I did (2nd paragraph is the most useful for trimming)...
Very nice a really wanted one sat on my mates and it taller than my multistrada so I won't be buying one just yet unless platforms come back in fashion
Sweet ride dude.... makes far more sense these days having something that’s possibly going to get you in far more trouble.... Every time I’ve ridden a Hyper it turns me into a proper Hooligan Enjoy....
I picked mine up yesterday, I am looking at tail tidies as the original one is ugly, I was looking at evotech, are they easy to fit. Any recommendations for number plate manufacturers that will follow the letter spacing and border size so I can get the smallest legal plate.
All joking apart, I’m 5”11 & it’s too high for me. I seriously considered one a few months back but that’s a very uneasy feeling having to lean the bike over to put your feet down. How does everyone manage?
I'm 5'9 and on tip toe, but it feels ok, they do a lowered seat, which is narrower and lower, which is supposed to be good.
I'm 6' with ~31" inside leg and I get both feet flat in the floor in my 939Hypermotard. I reckon it feels taller as you get on it then, once aboard, things settle (yes, I've set up the static sag properly). I expect a lot of potential Hyper owners haven't been on one...
Its so light that just leaning it over slightly isn't an issue. I test rode one a few weeks ago and that uneasiness of approaching a junction went as soon as i realised leaning it to get one foot flat down was so easy,.
Hey guys - its not that tall. I'm 5'7" with 29" inseam - and its fine. On the standard 950 I get balls of feet down on both sides?
Years ago I had an NX650 Honda. Same issue - a great bike but a little too tall for me. I got used to it quickly & over the two years I owned the bike, rode it all over Mexico and never had an actual problem with junctions or anything else. But I 'd never never do it again.
