    6 days to go until 4,000 mile trip on my 1200 MTS. Service done, new tyres fitted today, kitchen sink packed.

    Day 1 - 2 laps Nurburgring
    Day 2 - Stelvio
    Day 3 - Verona
    Day 4 to 13, tour of Italy

    Can't wait

  3. Sounds great but I think Stelvio is closed until May

  7. Yeah, I'm afraid you can scratch the Stelvio. In fact you can scratch pretty much all Alpine passes. They will still be closed due to snow and not likely to reopen for at least a month or more.
    The Simplon pass from Switzerland to Domodossola is probably open - almost certainly in fact. You don't want to do the Gotthard tunnel if you can help it as it is very long, smelly and quite claustrophobic. But you may have to.

    I noticed that the Jura mountains near me (they aren't very high, nothing like the Alps at all) still have snow on them, or more precisely, they've got new snow on them. It's been bloody freezing here. You could probably fit in a day's skiing, if you felt like it.
