Perhaps Hero will buy the remains from the liquidator. Then they will own 100% of what they previously owned 50% of, for peanuts.
It is yet another reason why you can't put engineers in charge of bike/car design...... it always goes under. Just look at our own success story in Triumph...... a businessman with good marketing men telling the engineers what they want making. Nothing particularly radical, nothing cutting edge, mostly 'me too' designs but all beautifully done and they sell by the shed-load. Twice now, the nice Mr.Buell has cocked up the business through trying too hard. One wonders what Harley found in the books before they shut him down and why his current backers didn't back him any longer. There will be a background story to that tale of woe that non of us are privey to, methinks.
Sadly I have to agree ... the changing face of Ducati over the last few years is proof as well ... from an engineering-driven race team with a factory bolted on, to a marketing-driven super-brand. Shame.
