Another revolution of the sun is boring, counting revolutions of the sun and placing more significance on multiples of the number of digits we evolved with is equally boring. #justsaying This isn't boring:
No Count, I don't agree. Life is pointless in any case, and should thus be peppered with pointless celebrations. Birthdays and Xmas are good occasions for making an effort, doing a bit of organising and increasing the happiness quotient in the world. People who never celebrate are somewhat dull - though I am sure you aren't. You can have a celebration on the 19th of April, if you prefer (hope that's not Easter, or it rather ruins my point...). The important thing is to have a celebration that a few people can get behind. Have a party, give or get some pressies, drink some bottles, make some good food. I like one day out of the 365 to be a special day for me. That still leaves 364 which aren't. The advantage of birthdays is that people understand them. Drumming up a lot of enthusiasm for the 19th of April is going to be harder.
The Sun is an immensely fascinating object. Of course I mean that star of which we orbit. Not that pamphlet for pikeys.
I asked my wife what she wanted for her birthday. She said, "Nothing would make me happier than a new car." So I got her nothing.
birthdays for me are essential even just to remind me how old i really am. because looking in the mirror you wouldn't think it. i is the boniest.
