just got to say how impressed i am with ITV's coverage of this years event...fantastic...some great behind the scenes stuff, great commentary and interviews, awesome on board footage..i can virtually smell the exhaust fumes.. people like to slate ITV sports coverage, but ive really been enjoying the IOM courtesy of ITV4.....and its free..bravo!
Generally agree, butI have come to the conclusion that Parrish is a bit of a twat, full of clichés and I wasn't one bit impressed with his interview of Guy Martin the other night where he was insinuating Michael Dunlop was wild and dangerous, glad to say Guy wasn't having any of it. There is bad blood between the Dunlop family and Parrish going back years and it showed which was unforgivable.
Got to agree with Funky..... The only way it could have been better is if they showed it live then did the highlight show on a night. The only negative for me was not showing the senior on the Friday night. How long does it take to edit FFS!
yeh I detected that too re parrish and his slant on dunlop. I thought guy handled it cool and well. the irish commentator has grown on me. witham and plater very good.
i actually dont mind steve parrish..he's certainly more informed and more tolerable than charlie cocks.
Parrish is a knob. Can't stand the twat. He shouldn't be doing Moto GP either. Get Toby & Julian doing it - far better and much more knowledgable...
+1, its been great to see the action after work and I do like Jamie Whitham he is one funny bloke! Jamie Whitham R1 Test Ride Comedy Advert - YouTube Yorkie
It was great to meet up, Steve. Glad you got home safely. Congratulations on purchasing a new chain - maybe this one will last you a few years. You're a good pillion rider, by the way. Pete
Thanks Pete you certainly hustle the multi l think you like taunting sportbike riders! clutch slave gave up on the m6 that was fun 200 odd miles wih no clutch l believe a good time was had by all been looking at sailings for the manx! regards Steve
Very pleased with the ITV4 coverage, especially as you can watch it on catch up for seven days. Very handy. I dont mind Parrish, but it was a shame Plater got pushed aside a little bit after the first day once Parrish got back from Mugello. Craig D is a good fit and Witham is always worth listening to.
is it really worth going over there ? when the tv coverage was excellent. Parish has walked the walk i respect and like him but love Witham ? very long lap to see the top rides for a second, rip of ferry fares ,have to get up before dawn and hope on the weather to have a fast ride over the mountain so is it worth it ?
Worth every penny and television dosen't even convey 5% of the excitement or atmosphere, walking the pits, meeting the riders, standing 10 ft from a bike passing you at 190mph. Television coverage is simply a consolation for not being there in person.
Believe me, it is definitely worth going. The whole experience is incomparable, especially if you are on a good bike. But picking a year when the weather is fine is a big help.
if your thinking about going then think no more , nothing bike related comes close to the TT , its a deffo must do. I've done the last 4 years and cant see me doing anything else at the end of May each year . If you aint been then you don't know how good it is ...gets under your skin .. awsome
I'll be there anyways funky , was a busy year for me this year , even hot to do pit stops for Norton ! What you riding nowdays ?
