A mechanic with a 916 told me you can get better starter motors for you Ducati than the ones us SS owners have. Is this true? I think he said they were Japanese.

We were going through reasons why some Ducatis don't start that easily...it came up in that context.

Hard/Slow cranking on the SS's (Or Ducati's generally) is usually due to the pathetically thin/small starting circuit wiring. Talk to @Exige about some quality replacements.
