Je High Compression Piston Kit, Standard 92mm Advice Please.

Discussion in 'Supersport (1974-2007)' started by KG900SL, Apr 18, 2015.

  1. Can the ENGINE GURUS please assist.

Can this kit be dropped in AS IS into a 900SL, or must the domes be machined down to lower compression ratio?
If machining is required, how must the domes be machined?

Ignition I understand must be retarded by 2deg, Ignitech will take care of this.

As always, Thanks for the valuable advice.

  2. personally i dont think anything should just be dropped in i would want to measure and know compression ratio squish valve to piston clearance ring gap etc etc

  3. What is the difference in compression over stock?

The drop in part is generally just indicating that you don't have to bore your cylinders or change rods, but will still require you to build it properly and check everything over as Andyb says.

  4. Thanks for the replies Gents!

Was going to replace pistons and rings, however when I measured mine all up they were still in excellent condition.

Chucked the cash at some FCR 41's instead:D
