Like many others I suspect, as well as Ducati's I am rather fond of a classic too. Yesterday I went to a Classic Bike Show and Autojumble in Ashford, Kent with one of my pals who was on his immaculate 1975 T150V Triumph Trident. Upon returning to the car park some lowlife cnut had ripped off (literally) his almost irreplaceable original Smiths rev counter leaving just a gaping hole and a mangled cable! When he reported it to the organisers they said "oh no not another one", as another 1970's Triumph had suffered the same fate. Obviously someone who knows they can be removed without tools. I also heard (uncorroborated) that a petrol cap was stolen from an MHR. If this becomes widespread it will kill these types of events stone dead! Most classic bikes have parts that are easy to steal yet almost impossible to replace. Personally I don't want to just lock my classics up to look at them but if you can't leave them unattended I won't be risking going to events like this in future. Be careful out there!
Sadly this seems to be all too common nowadays, and not just where you guys live... Personally I blame it on the whole "politically correct" way of doing things. " You can't do/ say that, they have rights too you know". Sad...
