Just tried to book our preferred hotel for the MotoGP at Jerez ........ the computer says no ! Tried a couple of other 4* hotels and ....... the computer says no. WTF ? The provisional calendar hasn’t even been released yet, I’m using sports press ‘leaked’ provisional dates FFS Not happy. Andy

No apologies necessary, I didn't say which hotel I was looking at. We remember it as the Cherry Blossom, very pleasant hotel in deed. Think we will do Portimao, currently able to book the Racing Hotel, 35 minutes walk from the Autodrome. Andy
Maybe a daft question, but have you been to Portimao? There's nothing near the circuit it's miles from anywhere, just industrial units etc, although last time I was there there was a lot of development starting. Just thinking if you are using that as a base you might struggle for the basics like food/drink.
Portimao circuit has a very nice hotel just a short walk from the circuit. IIRC it's a short(ish) drive to the seaside/resort area.
@Freak, @Nelson is correct, there is a 4* apartment hotel just over a mile away. Not looking for a “holiday”, just a few days to chill, watching the racing. Fly in Thursday afternoon, fly home Tuesday, possibly spend a day in Portimao and visit Faro if we get a late flight out. I can say with confidence, there will be a fair chunk of time spent in the hotel bar Andy
We stayed in a golf hotel right next to the circuit. In a little cottage type thing attached to the hotel. It was great. It was even better when the MotoGP circus rolled into town for testing. Because most of them stayed there too. Great trip!
