Ok all you track addicts. Who's done Jerez and what's it like? I might be able to squeeze a sneaky trip in with Tracksense in November. I've also heard the weather can be shite down there in November. Cheers.
Was there a few months back. A nice flowing track with good grip on the paint. A nice multi corner section at the end that you take as one.
Jerez is epic, definately go if you have the chance. Fast flowing track with great surface and grippy paint as mentioned above. Vid below is from when we all went out a couple of months back:
Why have you only got 4 gears? The both straights are long and fast, you'll certainly need more than 4, mind you I did it on my mini twin so it might be different on bigger bike.
No , I forget exactly but the back straight gets you to about 130-140ish. It's all about the fast corners ; the last three big corners all link together and you're going probably 120-130mph cranked right over.
Aye, if you're on a fizzy you'll need all 6. I'll be on a 1098R and looking at the footage I'd say 4th will do it.
You should be doing more than 130 down the back straight on 1098R that's for sure my little mini twin was on the stops before I needed to anchor up.
Can't remember what my top speed was but I was braking way too early as I wasn't feeling confident with it so I'm sure I was way below what it should have been.
Went last year with No Limits, first foreign track day and loved every minute, I'm sure you will too. Managed a 2.03 which may not be the fastest but sure felt it! 155mph plus down the back straight and 150mph plus down the start finish......4th gear tops on the GSXR750! Didn't take the old 996 as I thought it may not survive. Going to Mugello with FE on August 28th so we'll see how it compares. Note: Fastest times out of the whole group across the 3 days I think was a 1.49, Spike Edwards was there too and was flying as usual and making it look very easy!!
We booked Almeria for four days in september which should be awesome but I kind of wish we had done Mugello as I really want to go there.
Yeah, that Spike Edwards came flying past me at Cadwell. Just when I thought I was 'right on it' and doing ever so well. The bubble bursting little twat!
Almeria's ace. If you haven't done it before take a day or so to learn it cos its a bit tricky just after that long left. And there's the 170+mph straight. Brilliant, go up to the brake marker (its scary at first) then sit up and look for the paint marking to your right for the right hander. Don't fixate straight ahead, you'll shit yourself and think its all over. Its so bloody fast and looks impossible to pull up. But you will!! Brilliant fun, enjoy....
This is my buddy and me at Almeria, both on 1098R's. I'm in the red and white 'St George' leathers and my pal in red leathers. Our teacher for the session is on the GSX-R. My best time was a 1'50. Not brilliant but who cares. Great fun!
