  1. Anyone used them for suspension setups?
I got the Multi booked in next Saturday (19th) to get the static set up done, and some advice on curing the high speed wobble (i hope)

  2. Yeah, had several bikes done. My mate also has, the only thing I would say is be honest about your use as I have always asked for something that I could do a couple of trackdays a year on and always have ended up with the bike sent pretty stiff. Can't fault their attitude and helpfulness though

  3. That's who 44teeth seem to use all the time isn't it?!?

  4. Yeah I've had a couple done, they were good. Tell them what you want from it as well.

  5. have you tried bar end weights?

  6. Hi guys, thanks.
The Pikes Peak is prone to the high speed wobble / tank slapper at 150MPH + its a common discussion point. :p
Thats supposedly why they increased the wheelbase of the new 1260 to try and cure it when fitted with full Ohlins. I am told a couple of clicks on pre-load or adjusting ride height get shot of it but im no suspension guru and i will quite happily pay for an expert opinion and trouble shooting discussion and bring back the findings and let you all know.
The other reason is i feel the bike has a wayward tendency when moving at pace mid corner, the front feels its about to let go first and it usually does slide first before the rear looses grip, so i'm changing out the Scorpions to Corsa 3's which suit my style of riding better so i want the suspension to match my expectations. and new tyres.
I used to use Alpha Suspension based in Lincolnshire but hes not an Ohlins expert (K Tec are his bag) and big Kwaks!!! to which he did my ZZR14 to perfection.
So im starting with a static set up first for fast road. My Pikes Peak isnt a track queen as i have my 996 SP for that, but i do like fast road stuff, and your absolutely right, be honest with the guys setting the system up or you end up with an unusable bike suited for something you will hardly do....been there, done that and wear the t shirt :D

  7. I do this with every new bike. Go in with the intention of being a track hero and end up doing 2-3 track days and riding every other weekend on the road with a stiff bike

Still, keeps my sphincter in check.
