John Mcphee Currently Not In The Provisional List Of Riders For Moto2 In 2023

  1. Too old or just too much McPhell and not enough McPhee?

  2. My guess would be a lack of sponsor or sponsorship which is, of course, related to inconsistent past performances. As already suggested, he might find a ride in WSS but I’m not holding my breath. Andy

  3. Is Neil hodgson his manager or have I dreamt that?
He was saying on BT about a month ago all the bikes in m2 were taken and he’d have to look for a ride in wssp.
He’s only 29 next year btw just about to enter peak years for British riders (as the saying goes).

  4. The really competitive riders in Moto 3 are 15-19 years old, its a spring board too moto2 and Moto GP and he is basically 10 years too old now.

  5. Unfortunately he hasn't done enough, been too inconsistent, injuries and now too old. Compare him to others he's not a teams/sponsors first choice.

I hope he can get something on the world stage, but currently it's not looking great.

  6. With just four wins to his name over the ten year racing period in this class, that speaks volumes for me.

  7. Rory Skinner got the last M2 ride

  8. Never heard of him

this was my last season with Moto GP. We dont have a British rider, BT has split MotoGP and World superbikes to different packages now so its one or the other and WS seems more relevant for 2023

  9. He's currently in BSB , young Scottish rider showing a lots of promise. I ditched BT for the actual Motogp website coverage. What a breath of fresh air and no adverts. Highly recommend.

  10. Much easier to do if you dont watch the footy or ufc (and dont want to get involved in dodgy set top boxes/streaming).

Re McPhee i think the writing was on the wall when he broke his back at the start of the year. Needed a top last season and what with the issues seemingly with his team, he was never getting a m2 ride was he.
Hopefully the brits will stop falling off moto cross bikes right before the start of the season next year (see also SL22!!).

  11. Take your point but BT sport is cheaper than a MotoGP sub. I,m not prepared to pay £175 a year to watch Moto GP to be honest but i appreciate many will and good for them. Discovery + gives you all the BSB and all the WSB for £60 a year

  12. I personally think 1 in 4 races this year have been great races, so I've cancelled all of it and I'm going to just watch the highlights on C4 next year,

  13. Definitely one to watch. He caught my attention when he was absolutely spanking everyone else in the superstock 600. Reminded me of Marquez in Moto2

  14. I think as Jake Dixon and Scott Reading have shown the BSB series is not a great feeder for GP this is why WSB is dominated by Brits as its just much better suited to out domestic racing.

  15. Maybe. But when you see a racer rise head and shoulders above the pack (like Rory Skinner did), he draws attention. And rightly so…

  16. Scott Reading only competed in the BSB after he lost his seat in MotoGP and couldn't get a ride anywhere else. Andy

  17. BT or MGP tend to put the whole race on YouTube within a day or so for the main race.

  18. BSB is a poor feeder to MGP. No one ever really did great that way. Lowes probably the stand out and look where he has been: top 5 out of reach too often. Cal was 600 wssp of course, not sure what he did for that, but again: never any chance of winning much other than occasional race when circumstances allowed

  19. I think cal had a decent run . He's won more top class races than the espagaros put together
