Here we go fight fans. Who’s gonna win this one? I’m hoping Joyce. Comes across as a genuinely nice geeza. He sometimes looks like he’s punching through water but his nickname Juggernaut is well deserved. Ridiculously tough and just keeps stepping forward.
Two sayings: A good big 'un will beat a good little 'un. Boxing is a young man's game. So a draw then... but I reckon Parker.
People reckoned Dubois would hammer Joyce (including me) but nope. Teak tough is Joyce. A tough fight for any heavyweight. Alarming how many shots he walks through though… it can’t be good for you eating heavyweight haymakers
I've been watching Joyce since he turned pro, and thought he looked terrible, very wooden. But, like you say, he's teak tough. I think he gives any trouble
These are both hard hitters. On paper Parker should edge Joyce being younger, after a good series of six wins. Still I'm picking Joyce to win a close match as he has never lost a fight, he is bigger, probably has a longer reach. Plus Parker lost to Joshua and so you have to wonder...
Even though Parker has been knocked down I don't believe he has ever been knocked out. And can the bigger man stay with the pace if Parker jabs & moves?
I thought Parker looked overawed by the whole occasion in the Joshua fight. And I'm not too sure Joyce has boxed much quality up till now.
Joyce is very frustrating to watch as it reminds me of those dreams where you’re in a fight but it feels like you’re punching through treacle. He almost seems kind of tentative/nervy, like a newbie, but he just seems to walk through punches and he’s obviously got heavy hands as his jab made a real mess of Dubois’ eye socket.
But all the bookies do is reflect the quantity of money placed e.g. the more money placed the lower the odds & the less money placed the higher the odds. It doesn't mean the money has been placed correctly But it does mean the bookies will always get it right and make money...
"Gambling is a mugs game"... Generally the odds of winning any prize on Las Vegas Slot Machines are approximately 1 in 5. However the odds to winning a top prize on a red, white and blue slot machine, for example, are only 1 in 373,248. This means you always lose 80% of your in bets in slots, and your chance of hitting it big are sweet FA. But more fun to pick a boxer yourself and stick a fiver on him. Its a fun guessing game & hopefully there isn't a fix in play...
Joe Joyce, he’s some boy! What a scrap that was! Great performance by both men. Joyce is the real deal…
Joyce won convincingly. I agree it was a scrap, half of Joyce's punches were taken too close and lost a great deal of their power. Credit to Parker, he never gave up or threw in the towel. With some honing of his skills, Joyce could become a major force. He can certainly take hits to the head, chin and body without slowing down. I think currently the top guys would out box him unless he got lucky with a big punch. I'd give him a evens against Uysk (lucky punch knockout) but Fury would destroy him. Anyone who hasn't seen it, here's the highlights. Foreign language commentary , but the punches are in English!
Exactly, but they fought a short five round fight. Joyce has gained confidence and skills since then. Over a longer distance he has a better chance of connecting a massive blow.
