Hi, I picked up my new (to me) Diavel Carbon on Monday morning at 9.30, and by bed time I had covered over 300 miles on it. I traded in my Suzuki Hayabusa, which I always wanted to love, but never really did, in the end, after appalling service from Robinsons of Rochdale and complete apathy from Suzuki GB, I decided that it was to be my last Suzuki, in the end I chose to go upmarket and get a Duke, I am not disappointed. On the first day I rode on motorways (much slower than I would have on the old bike), A roads, city streets and winding country roads in North Yorkshire, all in all I am very impressed. Likes; I love the power, although the 'Busa wasn't lacking, the Ducati has plenty The riding position is more fitting to my age and stature The looks, particularly from the rear, that rear tyre is awesome The lightness and manoeuvrability in town is much better The sound when it is in the higher rev range The fact that I don't feel compelled to drive everywhere at supersonic speeds Dislikes / to change? I am looking for something to make the seat a little softer (although it is still more comfortable than the previous, more comfort is never a bad thing) I have ordered a touring screen (nothing unsightly, just something to remove a little of the wind) New grips are required as it has some nasty heated grips which are worn and sticky (eeeuw) That's it really, so far I am very happy with it, I have never had a bike like it before, staying with sports bikes, but am much happier riding at speeds where I am not likely to lose my liberty if I get caught, and where I can admire the beautiful scenery that we have in the North. PS. Thanks for the posts, I love reading tips and updates. Andy
I honestly don't know, I've only done about 600 miles on it so far and gave yet to ride it in the rain. It's a bit damp out tonight and I've been out without any issues, no squirming at all, not even over white lines, so far, so good.
