Just signed the papers for a new Mutley, now waiting to sign divorce papers

  1. Thanks to Andrew at Moto Rapido for a good deal on my S2R. I have been threatening to buy a Multistrada for a while now and when I looked at the latest PCP offer with panniers thrown in, I had run out of excuses. SWMBO (oh the irony!) is gonna be far from pleased but life is too short and it's got ABS and traction control, dear etc, etc...

If my head is still in contact with my shoulders when I pick the bike up next week, I'll be sure to post some pictures (is a wheelie bin a requirement?) and ask about where to put the tax disc. Then after a few weeks I'll slag it off to high heaven before trading it in for a hairdryer.

  2. Did exactly the same about six weeks ago, picked the bike up on Tuesday last week. Still married and she even went in the back of my bike for the first time in eighteen years. She came back with a smile on her face and I think I have been forgiven.

    Enjoy the numptystrada!

  3. Well to her credit, she only gave a few minutes of the silent treatment and rolled her eyes and tutted a lot. But all systems go for picking the bike up on Friday and pleasantly surprised at the cost of insurance going from a 5 year old £4000 machine with 90bhp to a brand new £13000 bike with 150bhp for only a few quid more. Result!

  4. Best way to avoid all of this in future is to do what I did.....

I got my wife to learn to ride herself about twelve years ago. I was fine when I got my Multi a few weeks ago as she had only just traded her Monster in for a BMW F800R....

The only problem about it is that when one of us gets a new bike the other is so jealous that it isn't long before we both have new bikes.... It can get expensive!

  5. If my mate hadn't just bought himself an brand new MOnster 1100EVO then I would probably have stuck with the s2r for another year. But I got jealous and thought I'll show him.

  6. the

It goes like this here; I bought the Brembo forged rear Cali' & the some new levers...wife was well impressed..then turned the iPad to me and said; what do you think of these Jimmy Choo's? They're on the way.

    Quid pro Quo.

  7. After having my KTM 990 SMR nicked months ago, we decided financial constraints mean I will have to go without until the new year. I have already decided on a new Multi as the missus loves going on the back everywhere. Anyway we were driving down the road the other day and she just blurted out that she missed the rides out and that we should go put a deposit down on one. I had to talk sense into her?!?

    That's why I love her ;)
