K&n Air Filter_hyperstrada 821

  1. I was hoping to install a K&N air filter to my 2014 Hyperstrada, but I have heard that as I already have an Akrapovic exhaust installed I will probably end up making the bike run leaner and the risk of fault codes also.
Just wonder if anyone can confirm whether I should be ok to go ahead and install or not ?

If it was just a 5 min job to change I would just chance it. However seeing as you have to dismantle half the bike to get to the filter , thought I'd do a bit of research first

    Thanks

  2. I'm pretty sure that would be too lean - what state is the ecu in....is a stock "race mode" job or a custom map for the bike....if youre on a custom map then you should "get away" with it but I would still say on the dyno for a remap....

  3. Yep the ECU is just standard
So I guess I'm better sticking with stock filter for now maybe

  4. Absolutely - you need to find someone capable of being able to reflash the ecu itself...that's the best way to get the most out of the bike....

  5. Thanks for the reply and info. Much appreciated.
It's a bit difficult where I'm based to find someone to do that. Funny really as this is the land of bikes ( well scooters is a better term )
Would it be best for me to invest in a Rexxer unit do you think ?
I have also had "surging issues" with the bike , as I believe a lot of people have. And maybe to get the bike where it needs to be might be a case of investing a few quid in this Rexxer unit ?

  6. Mines going to BSD in Peterborough once my bicep has adhered itself back on to my arm :grinning:
