Kais Suspension

  1. just looking at getting some suspension work done at KAIS suspension in manchester and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them and would recommend?

  2. Go somewhere else like 100% far far better, do you to see my 899 track settings ?

  3. I called them last year to ask about setting up my 1199 and was told they hadn't done a panigale yet. Weird bearing in mind they came out in 2012 and it's only a base model. He basically just bombed me off. I wouldn't call them again.

  4. Interesting.... I've just had a look for reviews and tbh they don't look the best from what i can see. Might hold off booking tomorrow and contact someone else. I contacted Kais through the Ohlins website as they were closest to me. I have heard of 100% before so might contact them

  6. Maxton are in Frodsham, not too far if KAIS are near you and have had an excellent reputation forever

  7. They did mine at the start of last year!! They guy seemed to know what he was doing.

They are did a load of work on my 999 a few years ago, made it sublime.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  8. The bloke who did my tyres ( biketyreservices.com ) in Sale strongly recommended KAIS as the way forward.

  9. They're rebuilding the rear shock off my 998...
I'd only heard good stuff about them and because they're only 45 mins away, decided to try them. Apart from the service, they're fitting a new spring for my weight and replacing the main body.
They are a friendly bunch and while I was there, they showed me around the workshop and went through all the details as to what needed to be done to the shock.
    So far so good...

  10. I have taken every bike I have owned over the last 7 years to them to set up the suspension. I've always ridden home with the bike feeling better.
They re-valved the front and rear suspension of my 2012 speed triple and that went in unridable and emerged on rails. I've just taken in my 1299 base panigale. it was bucking me out of the seat, then a smooth ride home after they set it up.

I would recommend them. Old school shop, good lads. And they are ohlins techs for BSB teams. All interactions I've had with them have been good. All the work I have had done by them has made a real improvement to the bike.

  12. Bought an ohlins shock for an sp1from them and thought the service was spot on .

  13. I was gonna recommend Maxton these guys set up a number of machines for the TT and are normally there themselves doing work Maxton Suspension home page

  14. anybody ever watched this guy

  15. Had my panigale suspension set up by KAIS this morning, spot on friendly service & a much (much) improved ride on the way home. The senior sales guy (Steve) from Triumph Manchester was there having his 999s set up, bike looked mint, nice bloke:upyeah:.

    Definitely recommend it.

  16. I used them for servicing my Streetfighter S Ohlins and they did a great job. Very quick turn around, great price.

  17. Any real big changes or comments from them?

  18. When they did my suspension (base Panigale), they said it was set up with too much compression and not enough rebound damping. Reduced compression and increased rebound and sorted the bike out. It is still firm on the road, but I took it to Donington for the Ducati track day and the bike was amazing. It handled like a dream. I changed nothing.

  19. 1299 or 1199?

  20. Exactly as stated by @Hamos. Suspension set up is not my forte hence I went to them.

Previously the bike would try to throw me out of the seat over fast consecutive bumps & the front would 'skit' about a little on uneven surfaces or aggressive braking. Pre-setup the bike when pushed down centrally would not compress evenly between front and rear and after setup it remains level with a push down of one hand.

I get noticeably less vibration through the front bars now and the bike feels smoother at a quicker pace. When I got there I just asked them to look at the suspension to see if they could improve it in any way (without upgrading) and if the outcome was the stock settings were optimum so be it. Steve, the Triumph dealer said there is no such thing as a 'stock' setting and new bikes are delivered with massively varying settings (sometimes ridiculous - his words).

Apologies for not providing a more techy answer but I've just described it as I've experienced it.
