Hi all, Took the plunge and bought a set of Sil Motor carbon pipes for the SS. They are top notch, however it's now running like crap with the Keihins and an open air box lid. This seems to be because of a total lack of back pressure, it's running lean and no power compared to standard pipes. I am going to try the original air box lid on it, to see if that makes a difference. It looks like I am going to have to play with the jetting. Would appreciate anyone's experience in similar matters.
Back pressure in a 4 stroke zorst system isn't required really..........the objective is to get the gases away as quickly as possible. I would say it's more down to fully open zorsts meaning you need to richen the mixture........Try the original airbox cover by all means, but at a guess you will need to increase the main jets............say, if you had for example, 150s in there, then at least 155s are needed. Hope it's some help.... AL
