1200 Key Fob How To Keep From Loosing

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Dr Mark, Jun 2, 2014.

  1. What do you do with your multi key fob? I see there's no ring to add to keep other keys (disc lock) etc and then one thinks about it falling out of your pocket!
So what to you do with yours?

  2. Drill a hole in it and put it on a lanyard.

  3. Either keep in bumbag, secure pocket, or put in the pocket at the front

  4. They are on E_Bay for £30.

  5. I bought one of those and keep it on a lanyard..schimples !

  6. Get a second key cut and put that on a lanyard for opening the fuel cap or rear seat and then keep the main key in a zipped up internal pocket in your jacket.

  7. Must. Resist. Must. Resist.

  8. +1 on a non-transponder key. In fact I've had two cut, one for the wife or riding partner, in case I lose mine while on tour. Big black key zipped away in a pocket and the red key left at home. I have a keyless fuel cap so only need the non-transponder key for seat/panniers/top box, in which I still leave it occasionally - but at least it can't be used to start the bike.

  9. Take 30 minutes and remove the standard fuel cap. Underneath you'll see 2 small screws. Remove them. If needs be, you can now take your fuel cap off with an allen key if you are unlucky enough to lose your key.
    End of issue.

  10. Agree with get a 2nd key cut, and you never have to take the remote out of its safe place

  11. You must be a real doctor ... you can't spell. Loosing or losing?

  12. And to be a bit pedantic surely it's: "One thinks about it falling out of one's pocket"? Just saying ...
